Our Charity Community

Our Partnership Programme

We are proud to work alongside rescue centres and sanctuaries who share our mission to support cats and their adopters through safer, more secure home solutions.

Because Good things happen when we work together

As cat lovers ourselves, we know that the work doesn’t end at the point of adoption.

It’s about ensuring every cat lives a long, safe, and fulfilling life. We also understand that finding a "forever home" with a secure outdoor environment is often one of the biggest hurdles in the rehoming process.

By partnering with charities, we are tackling this issue head-on.

Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary

Established in 2012, Fur and Feathers Animal Sanctuary is a non-destruct rescue and a registered charity (1198747). We are based in South Birmingham. We are currently without a base, after losing the land we operated from unexpectedly.

We work tirelessly to nurture and rehabilitate every animal that comes into our care, with the goal of finding them the perfect forever home.

We do not discriminate against an animal based on age, appearance, illness or history as we believe every animal has the right for happiness. We will never put a healthy animal down, and are proud to have saved many animals from such a fate.

We have a fantastic team of dedicated volunteers who help us with all aspects of sanctuary including animal care, fostering, administration and fundraising. We have also teamed up with some great organisations who help to support us and other rescues.

We are entirely reliant on donations and the generosity of our supporters. Without your support, we wouldn't be able to do what we do. All donations - large or small - are gratefully received.

Left Paw Cat Rescue

Left Paw Cat Rescue is a volunteer-run cat and kitten rescue based in Kings Heath, South Birmingham, dedicated to giving abandoned, stray, and unwanted cats a fresh start. We provide safe, loving foster homes for cats in need until they’re ready to be adopted into their forever families.

My journey began with a deep love for animals, coming across a foster plea from another rescue. Me and my partner, Rhys, fostered a mom and her four 2 day old babies. From here, we have had a determination to help the countless cats struggling on the streets of South Birmingham. What started as helping one or two local strays quickly grew into a rescue that has now saved over 100  cats since January.

Running Left Paw Cat Rescue is a full-time passion and a labour of love. I rely on the kindness of foster carers who open their homes, and the generosity of donors whose contributions cover essential vet care, food, and supplies. Without them, this rescue simply wouldn’t exist.

Every cat that comes through our rescue has a story, and seeing them transform from frightened or abandoned into healthy, happy companions is why I do what I do. It’s my mission to ensure every cat in Kings Heath and beyond gets the second chance they deserve.

Kings Heath Cat Rescue

Kings Heath Cat Club (KHCC) was and remains initially a Facebook social group set up by Caroline Alexander back in 2012, in a bid to unite local cat lovers, and thus enabling them to have a place to share pictures of their cats and to share knowledge amongst each other with cat related queries or problems.

The Facebook group has now grown and has over 10,000 members and growing month on month.

As a result of the popularity of KHCC Facebook Group, it was obvious that more help was needed.  By January 2017, Ali O'Leary launched the Rescue, which later became Kings Heath Cat Club Rescue (KHCC Rescue), and has now become a fully fledged Rescue (now Kings Heath Cat Rescue) of which Ali is the Rescue Director.

The Rescue is run on alot of hard work, good will, and donations from supporters of the Rescue.  There are a small but dedicated Team of Fosterers and Volunteers (including its very own Fundraising Team!) who keep the wheels turning, and who help to rescue stray, feral and abandoned cats across the whole of Birmingham.

We’re looking for all people who care about cats

We have a vision to tackle major issues with Cat Welfare in the UK.

The why

After 5 years of being involved in the Cat Safety System industry, we experience first hand the importance of keeping cats safe whilst allowing them to enjoy the outdoors everyday.

As business owners, and cat owners ourselves, we feel a real responsibility to install these systems, and talk openly about why they matter and how much difference they can make.

Through our work with cat owners and charities, it’s become very clear to us that there are some big challenges facing cat welfare in the UK right now.

We researched these issues extensively and have found an achievable resolution which will benefit everyone involved.

If you are passionate about the welfare of cats, we would love to have a chat to you about our vision.

The how

We would be honoured to chat to people who:

1. Have a genuine interest or experience in Cat Welfare.

2. Have an understanding of the importance of Cat Safety Systems, and their effectiveness to dramatically improve cat mortality rates.

3. Have an interest in helping to resolve the current Cat Rehoming Crisis.

4. Have any skills which would benefit us in any aspect of our business.

To remove any confusion, we are not seeking monetary donations.

If just one of these points describe you, we need your help.
